Alcohol is used as a beverage in most parts of the world. However, there are other uses for it at home that makes it a great product for one’s everyday needs. If you are facing a car breakdown due to a dead battery, red wine can be used to restart it. Use a funnel to pour some red wine into each of the battery cells and then reseal the cell covers. Let the car be for about an hour and then you can use it to drive to a service centre where the battery can be replaced. Alcohol also makes for a good cleaning agent. Beer can be used to polish metal. Simply spray the liquid on the metal surface and rinse it off with water to keep the surface shining like new. Vodka can be used as a solvent to clean mirrors while gin can be used to clean jewellery. Isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol can be used as a cleaning agent and for first aid purposes. Rubbing alcohol can be used as a natural nail polish remover along with water to remove unwanted nail paint. All you have to do is simply soak your nails in water and use an alcohol dipped cotton ball to rub the nail polish off your fingers.
